These are the questions I’ll be asking you when we first make contact. I want to do everything in my power to create the best boards possible for your needs. Whether you need a few highly polished pieces of art to showcase promotional key frames, or an entire project worth of rough sketches, I’m here to help!
My process
My workflow is highly adaptable to suit your needs. After our initial conversation about the project I typically start by reading over the script and/or shot list. I then create very rough thumbnail drafts of each frame where I determine the camera angle and block in the main elements. Sometimes I will share these thumbnail drafts with my clients to make sure we are on the same page with the basic imagery. If everything looks good I start tightening up the illustrations and turning them into clean line art. From there it’s up to you whether you simply want the line art, or added grayscale shading, or fully colored boards.
